A Fresh Start...............

Happy 4th of July!

I've been collecting inspirations on my Pinterest board so when I feel in the creative mood, I grab one, read it and create whatever comes in my head.  The words are by Dorothy Parker.  On a canvas, I used Gelatos to create the background.  A floral stencil and molding paste to create 3D flowers.  Scrapbook paper that I cut freehand to create the girl, dog, and purse.  Used Faber Castell markers for depth.  Rubber stamps, rhinestones.

Well, here's a look into my journal.  I've been inspired by Teesha Moore and Robin Marie Smith to name a few artists.

Journal page inspired by one of my favorite songs and flower.

And here's a peek inside my studio.  (On a fairly clean day!)

I also took a coffee cup sleeve,  covered it with paper,  made a cool dimensional heart on the front and added beading along the bottom edge. I filled the cup with hot chocolate and candy and gave it to my wonderful mail lady who is also a quilter.  She absoutely loved it!

Its been a while since I have posted on my blog.  I have been soooo busy with family, my job, and life in general, along with playing in my studio that I never get around to posting all the woderful art I am making.

I also have been taking great online classes and playing with all my awesome supplies I have.

So here is some of the art I have been making.................

Around Valentine's Day, I had fun creating a Book of Love using heart shaped chipboard along with a bunch of fun tidbits I found in my studio.  Here you can see each page.

I love to make cards from the photographs that I take! Sometimes I will add some text or a dimensional to create a little "spark" on the photo. I made the following cards from pics that I took at a quilting retreat up in Wisconsin. They are a gift for the lady that hosts the retreat. I hope she will like them.

Bundle Up

This piece was done for a Christmas gift swap thru Cloth,Paper,Scissors magazine. I used a canvas board, painted it and used bubble wrap to add more texture. Then I took a piece of torn scrapbook paper and a photocopy of an old photo that I purchased at an antique store and adhered then to the canvas. Shiva paint stick in silver was added under the words. I added glitter snow, yarn, and buttons to complete it. Come end of September, I will receive someone's art piece in return.

I enjoyed creating this little piece of holiday nostalgia.
